Here’s how to get your Verizon transfer PIN.

What is a transfer PIN?

The transfer PIN is a special 6 digit PIN generated by Verizon to authorize the transfer of your phone number from Verizon to a new cell phone carrier. You provide the transfer PIN to your new carrier. Your new carrier then confirms the information is correct with Verizon before Verizon releases your phone number to your new carrier.

There are three ways to get your Verizon transfer PIN:

  1. On your phone
  2. On the My Verizon app
  3. On the Verizon website

I'll cover each of them in this article.

Let's dive in.

1. How To Get Your Verizon Transfer PIN on Your Phone (easiest method)

  1. Open the phone app and dial #PORT (#7678)
  2. Verizon will send you an automated text message with a link to generate your transfer PIN
  3. Open the link
  4. Tap Generate PIN
  5. Verizon will display your transfer PIN and account number

Your Verizon transfer PIN will be valid for 7 days.

You can cancel your transfer PIN at any time if you no longer wish to transfer your Verizon phone number to a new carrier. Otherwise, the PIN will expire automatically.
