Mint Mobile APN Settings
APN settings are required to get features such as group messaging, picture messaging, and cellular data. What are APN settings? APN stands for access point name, and these are the settings your smartphone uses to connect to the correct cellular network with the right configuration.
Most carriers configure the APN settings automatically the moment you activate your phone. However, some smaller carriers do not have this technology in place yet, and users are required to enter the settings manually.
Mint recently updated their system for iPhone users. If you're running iOS 12 or later, APN settings are configured automatically. Group messaging, picture messaging, and cellular data all work perfectly the moment you insert your SIM card into your phone. No additional configuration required.
However, if you are using an iPhone on an older iOS version, or you are using an Android phone, APN settings may still be required. Here are Mint's APN settings and how you can enter them on your device:
iPhone Users
You can find your APN settings by going to:
Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Data Network
Enter the following information in the corresponding fields. Leave all other fields blank.
Data APN: alpha
MMS APN: wholesale
Max Message Size: 1048576
MMSC: http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
MMS UA PROF: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
After you enter the APN information, quit the settings app and re-launch it to confirm the everything was entered correctly. Then, restart your device.
Android Users
You can find your APN settings by going to:
Settings > Network & Internet or Connections > Mobile Network > Advanced > Access Point Names
Enter the following information in the corresponding fields. Leave all other fields blank.
APN Name: MINT
APN: Wholesale
Port: 8080
MMSC: http://wholesale.com/mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: PAP
APN Type: default,supl,mms
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4
After you enter the information, tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner, tap save, and select your newly created APN settings. Restart your device for the changes to take effect.
