Xfinity Mobile is an MVNO that operates on Verizon's network for coverage. On May 18th, 2020, Xfinity Mobile published a press release announcing new 5G data options.
All Xfinity Mobile plans will now be able to access Verizon's 5G network. This includes both the By-The-Gig plans as well as Xfinity Mobile's unlimited data plan.
Verizon's 5G network is currently deployed in 34 cities across the United States. Verizon is primarily using mmWave technology to build out its 5G network.
mmWave 5G enables extremely fast download speeds, up to 2Gbps. Verizon is continuing to expand its 5G coverage areas. Currently 34 cities have Verizon 5G coverage.
Xfinity Mobile's 5G plans start as low as $15 for 1GB of data. Customers can also choose between the $30 for 3GB or $60 for 10GB options. Cellular data can be shared with up to five lines with the By-The-Gig plans, which makes these plans great for families. A family of five can share 10GB of data for $12 per line. Additional high-speed data is available at a rate of $15 per GB.
Xfinity Mobile's $45 unlimited plan also gets 5G access. Customer can enjoy 20GB of high-speed 5G cellular data. After 20GB, data speeds will be reduced to 1.5Mbps download and 750Kbps upload.
5G coverage and connectivity are supported on the Samsung Galaxy S20+ and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra from Xfinity Mobile.
Xfinity Mobile's plans are available for current Xfinity TV, Voice, or Internet customers.
